"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way."
...courage, initiative, enthusiasm...
This fall, the brothers of Phi Sigma Pi will participate in a variety of service events. Whether it’s planning and implementing the 13th annual “Pi Mile”, a 5k run or walk which will raise money for Teach for America or volunteering to help out with move-in on Michigan State’s campus, the brothers of Phi Sigma Pi are hard at work to service the community in which we are a part of.
Current Co-Chairs: Colin Stapleton-Reinhold and Claire Li
The Philanthropy Committee support and communicate with our National Philanthropy T.F.A. (Teach for America) and H.A.W.K. (Help a willing kid foundation).
Current Co-Chairs: Sasha Collins and Lindsey Lee
The Fundraising Committee’s purpose in Phi Sigma Pi is to raise money in order to keep our Chapter dues low and to provide committees with funds necessary to run their events. Its members expect to meet each semester’s goals, but also strive to exceed this mark and provide greater monetary flexibility each semester. It is a difficult job, yet very rewarding, as we search for creative ways to raise money without a large expense budget.
Examples of past events include cleaning up MSU’s sports arenas, including the Jack Breslin Center and Munn Ice Arena. Its members have also sold programs at home football games, partnered with restaurants to gain a percentage of their sales on a particular day, and printed and sold Breast Cancer awareness t-shirts.
The Fundraising Committee's most recognizable event is Teeter-Totter-A-Thon, a combination Fundraising/Service event that occurs each spring. Brothers Teeter-Totter for 24 straight hours, sometimes through snow and rain, never missing a beat.
Current Co-Chairs: James McCormick and Allie Bunch
